Badlapur police have booked an unidentified watchman for allegedly killing a 4-month-old puppy in the Shirgaon area of Badlapur East. The incident occurred on Sunday at the Hill Crest Building.
The watchman of the building is accused of brutally beating the puppy, which had entered the society premises. He allegedly attempted to dispose of the injured animal by placing it in a gunny bag. According to police, the entire assault was captured on CCTV, and the footage later went viral on social media.
A resident of the building intervened, rescued the injured puppy from the watchman, and took it to a veterinarian. However, the puppy succumbed to its injuries during treatment on Monday.

The veterinarian confirmed that the puppy had suffered severe trauma due to the beating. On Tuesday, a post-mortem was conducted by a veterinarian in Badlapur.
