Attention Thanekars! TMC Announces Water Cut On July 25; Check Out List Of Affected Areas

Thane: The Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) has announced a scheduled water cut across several areas of the city on Friday, July 25, 2025, due to maintenance work by STEM Water Distribution and Infrastructure Co. Pvt. Ltd.

The water supply will be completely shut from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm in the following areas: Ghodbunder Road, Patlipada, Balkum, Bramhand, Pawar Nagar, Kothari Compound, Dongri Pada, Waghbil, and surrounding localities. Residents are advised to store sufficient water in advance and use it judiciously during the affected hours.

In an X post shared by the Thane Municipal Corporation, they mentioned: "The STEM authority has announced that the shutdown for repairs, originally scheduled for Tuesday, July 22, will now take place on Friday, July 25."

Earlier, the water cut was scheduled for July 22, but it has now been postponed. According to the information provided, the water supply instructions are as follows: "The water supply will be closed from 12 noon to 9 pm on Friday as urgent repair work of the pump at the Jai Bhavani Nagar Pump House, which supplies water to the Wagle and Lokmanya Savarkar Nagar Ward Committee areas, will be done on Friday, 25.7.2025 instead of Tuesday, 22.7.2025. The water supply department is appealing to the citizens to store water and use it wisely."

In a separate update concerning the city’s water reserves, the water levels in the seven lakes supplying the city have reached 85 per cent of their total capacity, due to the recent spell of intense rainfall.

As per the latest data recorded at 6:00 AM on July 22, there has been a notable increase in water storage across the various lakes. The combined storage capacity of these lakes stands at 1,234,836 million litres, indicating a substantial improvement in the overall water levels.
