Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister of Maharashtra, Ajit Pawar, hailed it as a proud and joyful moment for every Indian after the Union government announced that India’s economy has reached the $4 trillion mark, making it the fourth-largest economy in the world.

“This historic milestone is the result of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s decisive leadership and consistent policy-making. Maharashtra is fully prepared to contribute to the goal of ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’ (Developed India 2047). I extend my heartfelt congratulations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on this remarkable achievement,” Pawar stated.

Following a recent NITI Aayog meeting, CEO B.V.R. Subrahmanyam shared that India has surpassed Japan to become the fourth-largest economy, trailing only the United States, China, and Germany. “This is not just about numbers. It reflects robust policy, strong leadership, and effective implementation,” said Pawar.

He emphasized that India’s youthful population, guidance from institutions like NITI Aayog, and strong coordination between the central and state governments will help the country rise to the third position within the next 2.5 to 3 years.

Pawar highlighted that PM Modi has urged all states to prepare long-term development vision documents. Maharashtra has responded proactively. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, the state government has formulated the 'Maharashtra 2047' vision in three phases:

A 100-day good governance plan

A medium-term plan for 2029

A long-term vision for 2035 and 2047, in line with the state’s Amrit Mahotsav

So far, over 700 goals have been achieved by various departments, and a new 150-day action plan is underway. A key objective is to grow Maharashtra’s economy to $1 trillion by 2030.

Deputy CM Ajit Pawar credited India’s economic growth to the hard work of its citizens, the contributions of the industrial sector, and the decisive and result-oriented leadership of the central government.
