Members of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) from Navi Mumbai will be coming on Sunday evening for a special screening of the recently released Hindi film Phule, held at Balaji Movieplex, Kopar Khairane. The screening is organized to honor and reflect upon the life and legacy of 18th-century social reformer and champion of women’s education, Mahatma Jyotiba Phule.
The film, which hit theatres last week, has been garnering an overwhelming response from audiences across India. Based on the tireless efforts and struggles of Mahatma Phule in advocating for social equality and laying the foundation for women's empowerment in India, Phule resonates strongly with those who support inclusive and constitutional values.
Recognizing the film's alignment with AAP's ideology of social justice and constitutional commitment, Navi Mumbai AAP members collectively participated in the screening. The gathering aimed not only to pay tribute to the historic figure but also to inspire ongoing efforts for equality and reform.
Speaking on the occasion, AAP Maharashtra State Joint Secretary Shyam Bhau Kadam stated, “This film is more than just a biopic — it’s a reminder of our nation’s reformist roots. Phule’s contribution to education and social upliftment continues to be a guiding force for those working towards an equitable society.”
The event is to take place at Balaji Movieplex, located in Sector 8, Kopar Khairane, a short walk from the local railway station, making it accessible for supporters and attendees.
