Ujjain: “Research writing is a skill. It will be treated as an original and scientific contribution towards knowledge if the research work is done in scientific manner and written in skilled style.”

These views were expressed by Prof Deepak Kumar Verma of Dr BR Ambedkar Social Science University, Ambedkar Nagar (Mhow) while delivering opening address at the five day workshop on research writing. The workshop began on Tuesday at MP Institute of Social Science Research (MPISSR).

Institute president Dr Nalini Rewdikar chaired the programme. About three dozen researchers from Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Delhi and Chhattisgarh are participating in the workshop.

Verma said that technology, digitisation and software packages have enabled us to analyse the data more accurately in present context, but the treatment of their contribution to the field of knowledge is up to researchers.

Institute director Dr Yatindra Singh Sisodia on the occasion said that the participants will get information regarding research methodology, thesis writing, precis writing and research paper writing. Coordinator Dr Tapas Dalpati conducted the programme.
