With its blend of high fashion, cinematic brilliance, and star-studded appearances, Cannes once again promises to be a spectacle for the world to witness, and Indian audiences can now tune in live.

Opening Ceremony is scheduled for May 13 at 7:15 PM CEST (That’s 10:45 PM IST). This will include the glittering red carpet and the presentation of the prestigious Palme d’Or d’Honneur.

Indian celebrities at Cannes 2025
India is making a major splash at this year’s Cannes, with a dazzling mix of returning icons, fresh faces, and powerful storytellers.
Alia Bhatt is set to make her much-awaited Cannes debut, representing L’Oréal Paris as their global ambassador. Joining her is the queen of Cannes, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, with the same brand. Her decades-long association with the festival continues to be a major highlight for Indian representation.
Jacqueline Fernandez, who made a stunning debut last year, is back to grace the red carpet with her signature glam style. And, Urvashi Rautela is also returning to the festival. Known for her bold fashion choices, she’s expected to bring more head-turning moments this year.
Interestingly, Nitanshi Goel, the breakout star from Laapataa Ladies, is poised to make her first appearance at Cannes, symbolising the rise of new-generation talent in Indian cinema.
Additionally, Actors Ishaan Khatter, Janhvi Kapoor, and Vishal Jethwa will represent their film Homebound, which has earned a coveted spot in the Un Certain Regard section. This marks a significant international milestone for all three stars.
Acclaimed director Neeraj Ghaywan, celebrated producer Karan Johar, and internationally recognised filmmaker Payal Kapadia are also expected to attend, further cementing India’s strong presence at the festival.
In a tribute to the golden era of Indian cinema, veterans Sharmila Tagore and Simi Garewal will be present for a special screening of the restored version of Satyajit Ray’s 1970 classic Aranyer Din Ratri.
