Bengaluru’s infamous traffic issues have been voiced countless times, but this time, the plea came from an innocent five-year-old girl. Her handwritten letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi has captured the internet’s heart while highlighting a citywide frustration.

Check out the letter below:

The handwritten letter that went viral

The child’s father, Abhiroop Chatterjee, posted the handwritten letter online, sharing, "PM is visiting Bangalore. My 5-year-old girl sees it as her chance to finally fix traffic." The short yet impactful message read: “Narendra Modi ji, there is lot of traffic. We get late to school and office. The road is very bad. Please help.”

The timing couldn’t have been more fitting. PM Modi was in Bengaluru on August 10 to inaugurate the Namma Metro Yellow Line, built at a cost of approximately Rs 7,160 crore, and to lay the foundation stone for Phase 3 of the metro project, valued at Rs 15,610 crore. While these developments aim to ease congestion, the little girl's note reminded everyone that ground-level road conditions remain a daily struggle.

Internet reacts

Social media was quick to react. Comments ranged from admiration to shared frustration. One user wrote, “I hope he meets your daughter and her wish comes true,” while another praised, “Loved the innocence and efforts.” Others vented their anger over poor infrastructure.

“I literally got almost killed because of the roads from Koramangala to Indiranagar. I pay Rs 3 lakh as income tax, and all I get are roads like the highway to hell,” one comment read.

Many hailed the child’s honesty as a stronger message than any political speech. As one user put it, “That’s a lovely and very strong note. PM Sir, request you to provide help.”
