PM Modi's initiative for Women's Day 2025

During his speech, PM Modi highlighted the immense contributions of women in various fields, emphasising that all forms of knowledge reflect the many facets of feminine strength. Quoting Hansa Mehta, a significant contributor to the Indian Constitution, he reinforced the importance of respecting and uplifting women in society.

On March 8, as part of the International Women's Day celebrations, the Prime Minister will hand over his official social media accounts to accomplished women from different backgrounds who have made remarkable contributions in their respective domains. These women will use PM Modi’s platforms to share their journeys, struggles, and achievements, inspiring millions across the country.

How women can participate:

PM Modi has invited women who have achieved excellence in diverse fields to be part of this initiative. Those interested can apply through a special forum on the NaMo App. Selected participants will have the opportunity to share their experiences, innovations, and success stories with a nationwide audience via the Prime Minister’s social media accounts.

About International Women’s Day

Observed annually on March 8, International Women's Day is a global celebration of the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. It serves as a reminder for gender equality and women's empowerment worldwide.

According to the UN, the theme for International Women's Day (IWD) in 2025 is "For ALL women and girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment."

"This year’s theme calls for action that can unlock equal rights, power, and opportunities for all and a feminist future where no one is left behind," UN quotes.
