Nita Ambani, known for her timeless sense of style and cultural pride, made a graceful appearance at the inauguration of the new Swadesh store in Mumbai. Accompanied by her daughter Isha Ambani and daughters-in-law Shloka Mehta and Radhika Merchant, Nita chose to honour Indian artisans and heirloom tradition through a beautifully styled ensemble rooted in heritage.

A traditional Gharchola saree with a modern aura

For the momentous occasion, Nita Ambani wore a traditional gharchola saree in a soft pink shade, woven from premium Madurai cotton. The saree featured meticulous gold zari embroidery and an elegant seedha pallu drape, exuding a blend of Gujarati tradition and understated sophistication.

What made this saree even more special was its artisan lineage, it was handwoven over a span of ten months by master craftsman Shri Rajshrundar from Rajkot, known for reviving age-old weaving techniques. Styled by celebrated designer Manish Malhotra, the saree was paired with a stunning phirozi silk kanchali blouse, embellished with antique gold threadwork, subtly nodding to royal Indian aesthetics.

Heritage jewellery

Nita’s accessories told a story of legacy and emotion. She wore a treasured gold bajubandh (armlet) that originally belonged to her maternal great-grandmother. Not only did she wear it on her own wedding day, but it will now be passed down to Isha Ambani and later to her granddaughter Aadiyashakti, making it a deeply meaningful family heirloom.

The highlight of her jewellery collection was a statement necklace crafted in white gold, with panels hand-painted to depict scenes from Lord Srinathji’s life, a striking mix of devotion and design. She paired this with diamond-encrusted earrings and a stack of delicate pink bangles, creating a cohesive and graceful ethnic look.

Nita Ambani’s makeup reflected her refined style. Her look featured rosy-toned eyeshadow, defined eyeliner, and mascara-laden lashes that brought out her eyes. She added warmth with blushed cheeks, a touch of highlighter, and a glossy pink lip. Her hairstyle was a sleek, center-parted bun, perfectly complementing her bindi and traditional outfit.
