Indian philanthropist and businesswoman Nita Ambani has once again delighted everyone with her exquisite style and commitment to showcasing India’s rich cultural heritage on the global stage. Attending a private dinner in Washington, D.C., just days before President-Elect Donald Trump’s inauguration, Nita made a grand entry alongside her husband, Mukesh Ambani, in an ensemble honouring Indian craftsmanship.

Ace Indian designer Manish Malhotra shared a series of beautiful pictures on Instagram featuring Nita in a stunning Kanchipuram silk saree. The traditional nine-yard drape was specially crafted by Swadesh in collaboration with Manish Malhotra for the prestigious event. According to the couturier, this masterpiece was woven by National Award-winning artisan B. Krishnamoorthy, whose intricate designs brought the grandeur of Kanchipuram’s temple art to life.

As per the luxurious fashion house, the saree boasted of over 100 meticulously designed motifs, each taking inspiration from India’s spiritual and cultural traditions. Among them were the Iruthalaipakshi (double-headed eagle, symbolising Lord Vishnu), Mayil (peacock, symbolising divinity and immortality), and Sorgavasal-inspired patterns (celebrating the folklore of heaven’s gates).
Adding a touch of contemporary flair to this traditional drape, Nita paired it with a custom velvet blouse. The full-sleeve blouse was designed with a built-up neckline and featured intricate beadwork on the sleeves.

While the saree itself was a showstopper, it was Nita's choice of jewellery that truly stole the spotlight. She adorned her look with a rare 200-year-old parrot-shaped pendant. The neckpiece, crafted using the delicate Kundan technique, was an exquisite blend of emeralds, rubies, diamonds, and pearls. Along with the magnificent pendant, the businesswoman also wore matching stud earrings, a statement ring and a bracelet.
For the final glam, the chairperson of the Reliance Foundation chose her signature dewy makeup with a black bindi and nude lip gloss, while her hair was kept in a side-swept low bun.
