Kim Kardashian's MET Gala look last year definitely had heads turning but also spread the curiosity around how could she fit into that silver outfit and what she'd done to get a waist that tiny! Well, in the recent episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Kim revealed how she struggled to be in that outfit and what it'd done to her body after the event.
Wearing a custom Margiela by John Galliano ensemble, Kim stunned in a sparkling greyish-silver dress that featured an extremely tight corset-so tight, in fact, that it raised concerns about how she managed to breathe in it, let alone walk and pose on the red carpet.
Damage to her body
In a recent episode of The Kardashians on Hulu, Kim opened up about the challenges of wearing the restrictive piece for the gala’s Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion theme. The reality star and Skims founder admitted, “I am claustrophobic. I’ve never felt this way before, where I feel like I can’t breathe. I can handle it for so long, but it’s like, I have to pee, I can’t breathe…I literally was dying.”
A behind-the-scenes clip from the limo ride to the event showed Kim struggling with discomfort, telling her team, “I’m literally gonna throw up. I’ve never been more uncomfortable.”

Later, as she removed the dress, Kim revealed the toll the corset had taken on her body. In the footage, red marks and indentations were visible on her back from the extreme compression. “I’ve never been in this much pain before,” she confessed to her team.
No regrets if I look good, she said
Despite the discomfort, Kim made it clear she had no regrets. When asked if the pain was worth it, she enthusiastically responded, “Abso-f***ing-lutely. Yes! That’s just who I am. If you look good, it was all worth it.”
According to E! News, Kim also reassured her hairstylist, Chris Appleton, and designer John Galliano, “I’m not as uncomfortable as I might look. It’s definitely a performance piece. I mean, God bless the Bridgerton cast that has to dress like this every single day. That would be so difficult.”
Kim’s commitment to fashion has always pushed boundaries, and her 2024 Met Gala look was yet another example of the lengths she’s willing to go to for an unforgettable red carpet moment.
