In a one-of-a-kind blend of nostalgia and cutting-edge tech, Tesla has officially launched its long-awaited retro-themed diner and Supercharger station in Los Angeles, California. Located on the bustling Santa Monica Boulevard, the new eatery is turning heads with its unique fusion of vintage Americana vibes and futuristic innovation.
Back in 2018, Elon Musk teased the idea of building an “old-school drive-in, roller skates and rock restaurant” at a Tesla Supercharger site. Fast forward to July 14, 2025, the visionary CEO visited the completed project himself, later posting on X (formerly Twitter), "I just had dinner at the retro-futuristic @Tesla diner and Supercharger. Team did great work making it one of the coolest spots in LA!"
Construction for the diner began in late 2023, and the final product doesn’t disappoint.
Drive-in dining with a cybertruck twist
Tesla owners pulling into the facility are welcomed with an experience unlike any other. Food orders can be placed directly through the car's touchscreen display, while customers sit back and enjoy a full drive-in movie theater featuring a massive 45-foot screen. Even cooler? The audio syncs seamlessly with Tesla's in-car surround system, offering an immersive cinematic experience from the comfort of your vehicle.
The menu offers American comfort food classics such as burgers, wings, hot dogs, and milkshakes, delivered in sleek Cybertruck-inspired containers that add a futuristic touch.
Optimus robot and elevated ambience
Inside the two-storey structure, Tesla's very own humanoid robot, Optimus, has been spotted serving popcorn, drawing even more curiosity and excitement from tech lovers and diners alike.
The second level features a rooftop dining area, giving visitors an open-air spot to relax and enjoy views of the city. Tech influencer Jacklyn Dallas, who shared a detailed review of the space, described it as “a paradise for tech lovers.”
Apart from being a fun hangout, the Tesla Diner doubles as a practical pit stop. With 80 high-speed Superchargers, the venue ensures that EV drivers can charge their vehicles quickly while enjoying a full meal or a movie.
