New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Thursday upheld the Madras High Court’s order allowing Edappadi Palaniswami (EPS) to continue as AIADMK Interim General Secretary, and it rejected O Paneerselvam (OPS) faction’s Challenge.

A 2-judge bench of Justices Dinesh Maheshwari and Sanjay Kumar pronounced the verdict, saying it has upheld the Madras High Court order of 02.09.2022 and made its earlier interim order permanent.

It, however, made it clear: "We have not dealt with the matter of resolutions before the party that were being heard by the single-judge. We leave it open for the said resolutions."

The judgment came on a batch of pleas relating to the tussle between former Chief Ministers OPS and EPS over AIADMK (All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam) party leadership.

Both the factions — EPS and OPS — had moved the Supreme Court over the tussle between AIADMK party leadership.
