Indore (Madhya Pradesh): New details have come to light in Raja Raghuvanshi's murder case, who was killed during his honeymoon in Meghalaya.
During this recreation, police also found a second 'dao' used in the crime. It was lying in the same gorge where Raja’s body was found.
Raja’s wife Sonam Raghuvanshi ran away after the first machete blow was struck by one of the hired killers, Vishal Singh Chauhan.

According to information, Raja had become friendly with the killers during the trip, not knowing what they were planning. The killers acted like they just wanted to visit Dawki (a well-known tourist place). Raja trusted them and thought they were all going there together.
A video showing the three killers walking at the trekking spot has also surfaced on social media. It was reportedly filmed accidentally by a tourist who was visiting the area that day.

The last known visuals of Indore couple was captured on camera by a YouTuber in Meghalaya’s Nongriat village. In the same footage, recorded by YouTuber Devendra Singh on the morning of May 23 at 9:25 AM, the three accused were also seen walking ahead of the couple.
Leading the group was Vishal — the man who later attacked Raja with a machete — followed by Anand and then Akash, who can be seen running his hand through his hair. Anand is seen wearing the same T-shirt that he had on at the time of his arrest.
The couple was recorded climbing the 3,000 steps during their trek to the Double Decker Root Bridge. In a later part of the video, the three accused are seen walking ahead of them. Sonam is wearing the same white shirt that was later found near Raja’s body.

After Raja was attacked, he started bleeding and screaming in pain. Sonam, came back to the spot only after he had died from multiple attacks.
Police said the crime scene was recreated by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) in Sohra, about 65 km from Shillong. All five accused — Sonam, her lover Raj Kushwaha, and the three hitmen Akash Rajput, Vishal Singh Chauhan, and Anand Kurmi — were taken to the spot to understand how the murder was carried out.

During this recreation, police also found a second machete (locally called "dao") used in the crime. It was lying in the same gorge where Raja’s body and the first weapon were found, near Wei Sawdong Parking Lot at Riat Arliang.
Earlier, investigators believed only one machete was used. But the second weapon came to light during the on-site investigation.
