Indore : The Indore bench of Madhya Pradesh High Court on Friday turned down a demand for a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into the Petlawad incident stating there is no need for it.

Hearing a petition filed by Advocate Sunil Verma, a Division bench comprising Justice PK Jaiwal and Justice DK Paliwal observed that there was no need for the CBI inquiry into the incident as of now as the judicial inquiry had already been ordered by the State Government.

The court ruled so after the State Government said it that a one-member inquiry commission led by a retired high court judge AK Saxena has been constituted to probe into the Petlawad blasts.

The commission has been given three months time to complete the probe and submit its report, the court was told.

Moved by the information, the court rejected the petitioner plea for CBI inquiry. The court, however, asked Verma to file an affidavit on his demands, which the court might take up in the next hearing.
