Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for admission to MBBS, BDS and other medical courses will be conducted nationwide on Sunday from 2 pm to 5 pm. To ensure a fair and transparent examination process, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has made elaborate preparations, including multi-stage screening of candidates.
The NTA has advised all candidates to reach their respective centres at least 90 minutes before the exam begins, i.e., by 12:30 pm. Entry will not be allowed without an admit card and a valid photo ID. Candidates are only permitted to carry drinking water in a transparent bottle.
Taking lessons from irregularities reported in the previous year, the NTA has implemented several reforms for this year’s exam. Priority has been given to government schools and colleges over private institutions when selecting exam centres.
In Indore district, 49 centres have been set up to accommodate approximately 28,000 students. The district administration has been tasked with overseeing the conduct of the exam. Sub-divisional magistrates (SDMs) and tehsildars have been appointed as exam supervisors and flying squads have been deployed.

A central control room has also been established for real-time monitoring. Additionally, 1,338 teachers have been deployed as invigilators, while principals of Kendriya Vidyalayas will serve as city coordinators. To enter the exam hall, candidates must carry their admit card with a passport-sized photo affixed, a valid photo identification document and a self-declaration form.
They are also required to bring an extra passport-sized photograph for the attendance sheet. The NTA has issued a strict dress code: male candidates must wear half-sleeve shirts or T-shirts with trousers. Trousers with pockets are allowed. Female candidates should wear half-sleeve kurtis or tops with slippers or sandals.
Wearing jewellery is strictly prohibited. Electronic items such as mobile phones, bluetooth devices, calculators, smartwatches, microphones and geometry or pencil boxes are not allowed inside the exam centre. No food items are permitted either.
Toilet breaks during the exam will not be allowed. Candidates must do all rough work in the space provided on the answer sheet or question paper, as any work done elsewhere will not be evaluated.
