Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Madhya Pradesh is currently experiencing its first rainfall of the season, accompanied by dense fog in several regions. As of Wednesday morning, visibility in some areas, such as Sehore, dropped to as low as 50 meters. Over the last 24 hours, more than 10 districts have recorded light rainfall. This weather pattern is expected to persist for the next four days, with significant changes predicted by December 27.

According to the Meteorological Department, light rainfall was recorded in districts such as Bhind, Sehore, Panna, Datia, Tikamgarh, Barwani, Khajuraho, Niwari, Morena, Ashoknagar, and Sheopur. Bhopal experienced cloudy skies throughout the day, coupled with cold winds, making the weather chilly. Similar conditions prevailed in Indore, Gwalior, Ujjain, and Jabalpur, although a slight increase in day and night temperatures was observed.

Cause of Weather Changes

IMD Bhopal attributes the weather changes to a western disturbance over Pakistan and a low-pressure system active in the Bay of Bengal. Another western disturbance is expected to become active on the night of December 26, intensifying the weather system over the state.

Cold Wave to Follow

Following the passage of the current system, a severe cold wave is anticipated, marking the beginning of an intense winter phase that is likely to last throughout January.
