Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A Congress woman councillor from ward 46 and her husband were beaten by four miscreants on Monday night over a dispute for using abusive language. The incident occurred in Indore's Vijay Nagar restaurant where the couple went for dinner.

Later, the Congress woman councillor went to the police station and complained about them. The police are currently searching for the unknown accused.

The victims were identified as Congress woman councillor Shaifu, and her husband Akash Kushwaha, resident of Somnath Ki Chaal.

According to information received, Shaifu along with her husband and child went to Guru Kripa Restaurant on Monday night around 11 pm for dinner. Meanwhile, three youths and one girl were seated at a nearby table and talking on phone.

When Shaifu and her husband heard that they were using abusive language over the phone, they both intervened and asked them not to use such language in a public place.

Following this, they started beating the councillor and her husband. When the dispute escalated, the hotel staff intervened. The accused then threatened the woman councillor and her husband to kill them and fled from the spot.

Later, she went to the police station and lodged a complaint. The police then registered a case against the accused and tried to identify the unknown accused. Further investigations are underway.
