Minister Bhuria Presents WCD’s Development Plans In Gujarat

Jhabua (Madhya Pradesh): Women and Child Development (WCD) department’s cabinet Minister Nirmala Bhuria presented important policy reform suggestions at a zonal conference organised by the Ministry of WCD in Kevadia, Gujarat. She showcased ongoing schemes and ground initiatives in Madhya Pradesh under ‘Suposhit Madhya Pradesh’ mission.

Minister Bhuria emphasised that despite tribal majority and geographical diversity, the state constantly works for complete empowerment of women and children. The state government has started online appointment process for Anganwadi workers, filling about 19,500 posts transparently every six months. With AIIMS Bhopal's help, nutrition tracker data quality has improved.

Programmes like ‘Moti Aai’ in Jhabua district and ‘Reva Project’ in Dindori district are showing amazing results in fighting malnutrition.

Under ‘Sashakt Vahini Programme’, over 11k girls have received free training. Many now serve in police, medical and other services. Helpline 181 and 1098 were integrated with ERSS-112 in July 2024, resolving 91% of 86k cases in six months.

Under ‘Mukhyamantri Ladli Behna Yojana’, 1.27 crore women receive Rs 1,250 monthly. Over Rs 38k crore has been distributed. Working women get safe housing through ‘Shakti Niwas’. A new 100-bed facility is ready in Indore.

Under ‘Mission Vatsalya’, shelter homes are being built in four districts. Poor families' children get Rs 4k monthly under ‘Mukhyamantri Bal Ashirwad Yojana’. Minister Bhuria suggested improvements to Central schemes, including revised rates, increased Anganwadi workers’ pay and better maternity assistance.
