Jhabua (Madhya Pradesh): Residents face significant challenges in obtaining and correcting their Aadhaar cards, a critical requirement for various government schemes.

Many villagers either lack Aadhaar Cards or have errors in their existing ones. It prevents them from accessing essential services like LPG, bank accounts, ration cards, pensions and MNREGA benefits.

Villagers forced to travel to the district headquarters

The situation has worsened since Aadhaar card processing has shifted from Common Service Centres to designated locations such as post offices and banks, which operate only during limited hours.

Villagers were forced to travel to the district headquarters, and stand in long queues, sometimes waiting overnight to resolve issues.

Difficulties for families arises

This not only wastes their time and money but also poses difficulties for families. Resident Dhansing expressed frustration over the lack of attention from authorities and public representatives.

One resident Devli Somla was denied her old-age pension for two years due to discrepancies in her Aadhaar information. Former janpad president Shankar Singh Bhuria had previously urged the government to establish Aadhaar centres in villages, but little progress was made.
