Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Concerned over the side-effects of the anti-fungal injection, the MY Hospital administration has decided to increase the duration of administering the injections to patients and also increase the gap between the doses. A team of experts led by the HoD, Medicine, Dr VP Pandey, also monitored the conditions of the patients at the time of administering the injections to see the side-effects on them.

“We’ve increased the duration of administering the injection as, earlier, one dose was given in four hours’ duration, which has been increased to 8-10 hours. The gap between the doses has also been increased and we’re continuously monitoring the patients,” Dr Pandey said. He added that side-effects from the injection are normal and will decrease after a couple of doses.

Meanwhile, some of the family members of the patients also brought the Liposomal form of injections from outside as they were afraid of the Lyophilized form which is being used in MY Hospital.

Patients in various private hospitals are also facing the same problem, but a team of specialists claims to manage the patients properly and by increasing the duration of administering the injections.
