Khetia (Madhya Pradesh): Three-day Kanbai mata festival concludes amid showers and devotion on Monday with a grand procession. Kanbai Mata festival, generally celebrated in Khandesh, was celebrated with great enthusiasm in Khetia, bringing families and communities together in devotion and tradition.

People installed the idols of Kanbai Mata in more than 200 places across the town and nearby villages. According to traditions, the festival holds special meaning for families and is often celebrated after weddings, childbirth or when a wish is fulfilled.

Special roti bhog made from flour at home was offered to the goddess and later shared only among family members. In the evening, devotional songs, bhajans and jagrans were held at many places, creating a spiritual atmosphere in the town.

Despite light rain, the farewell procession (visarjan) of Kanbai Mata on Monday, gathered thousands of people. Walking through town streets with devotion and teary eyes the devotees bid farewell to mata Kanbai. Women and girls performed traditional fugdi dance during the event.

Dhol groups from Mumbai, Nashik and Indore performed live in the procession. The event was organised by Dayaram Mahajan, a native of Khetia.

The festival ended with prayers for family and national happiness.

Locals celebrate event with enthusiasm in Pansemal

The three-day Kanbai Mata festival concluded with great enthusiasm and devotion in Pansemal town and surrounding villages. Considered a symbol of faith, love and family unity, the festival ended on Monday with emotional farewells to the goddess amid light showers.

Around 40 families from different wards of the town performed the traditional installation of the deity with full rituals. During the farewell procession, devotees carried the idol through main roads - Gayatri Mandir, Atal Chowk, Uttar Gali and other key areas, accompanied by drums and devotional chants.

The immersion took place at the Kanbai Ghat after aarti, where devotees danced to religious songs and performed the traditional fugdi dance. The municipal council made proper arrangements for the event.
