Alot (Madhya Pradesh): Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHA) workers alleged non-payment of honorariums and serious misconduct by their supervisor, Shakuntala Chauhan.

They handed over a memorandum to sub-divisional officer (Revenue) Sunil Kumar Jaiswal on Tuesday.

The workers claimed that their honorarium for the past three months remains unpaid, with funds owed to them not deposited into their accounts. According to workers, some payments were made, but Shakuntala Chauhan allegedly withdrew these amounts.

For instance, Rs 9,077 was deposited into the account of ASHA worker Vishnukunwar from Mallya village on March 27, 2025, yet the supervisor reportedly took back this amount.

Similar withdrawals were claimed for 20 other workers, with additional allegations of funds being withdrawn from Krishna's account in Khaspura on March 30.

They also claimed that Chauhan has engaged in such practices for years and threatened them with termination when they requested their rightful payments.

They demanded an impartial investigation, action against the supervisor and immediate disbursement of their pending salaries. BMO Devendra Maurya said an investigation was underway but cited a lack of funds as a reason for the delayed honorarium payments.

The workers further added that these financial irregularities are severely impacting their livelihoods.
