Khetia (Madhya Pradesh): The under-construction road near Bhatki village, Khetia that connects Khetia to Pati is a matter of concern for village residents and more worrying is the fact that reportedly, the road condition has remained the same for four months.
While one side of the road has been constructed the other side has been dug up to a considerable depth for construction. Villagers fear that with the advent of the monsoon the possibilities of a major accident have increased manifold.
Recently, a woman died in a motorcycle accident which happened due to a lack of indicators over the under-constructed part. After this case, indicators have been installed at appropriate places.
According to villagers, traversing the road is manageable during daylight, but causes a lot of trouble at night. Residents who travel daily on this road said that there can be a major accident, due to rain water filling up the dug-up area and urged the government to pay attention to this problem.
This creates a traffic problem too as only one big vehicle can pass at a time. School vans and citizens of more than 15 villages use this route. Aggrieved people have demanded quick action on this matter.
