Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The Jal Ganga Sanvardhan Abhiyan, launched under the guidance of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, is rapidly transforming into a public movement in Indore district, with widespread community participation and thousands of water conservation initiatives underway.

In a high-level review meeting held today at the AICTSL meeting hall, collector Asheesh Singh assessed the progress of the campaign and issued clear instructions to intensify efforts further. He emphasised achieving 100% of the campaign targets within the next four days and called for maximum momentum to ensure its success.

“This is not just an administrative initiative—it’s a life-changing campaign for our people. Every officer must approach this with utmost seriousness,” the collector said, underlining the campaign’s significance for the common man and its priority status in the state’s agenda.

District Panchayat CEO Siddharth Jain and other senior officials were present during the review. The meeting also focused on the Vikas khandwar campaign, another vital component of the district's developmental roadmap.

Under the Jal Ganga Sanvardhan Abhiyan, renovation of old water structures like wells, stepwells, and ponds is underway, alongside the construction of new water bodies, including field-level ponds. Large-scale water harvesting work has also begun to ensure long-term sustainability.

Officials highlighted that the campaign is already showing signs of success, with the active involvement of villagers and social workers. These efforts are expected to significantly improve water storage capacity in the region, ultimately benefiting both farmers and the general population.

The administration remains committed to making this campaign a model for effective and inclusive environmental action in Madhya Pradesh.
