Indore (Staff Reporter): A grand sanitation workers’ honour procession was held in Raj Nagar area of Ward 5 on Saturday to salute the real heroes behind Indore’s unmatched cleanliness record.

The celebration began with a ceremonial tour of the area, honouring sanitation workers for their tireless efforts. Local citizens enthusiastically welcomed the workers along the route, expressing gratitude with garlands and claps. 

In his address, Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav said, “Indore’s success in cleanliness is not a seasonal effort but a year-round commitment. Our sanitation workers, public representatives and citizens are equal partners in this achievement.”

He highlighted that sanitation was not merely a duty but a testament of skill and sincerity, which the city’s workers fulfilled with unwavering dedication.

The Mayor added that the municipal corporation was requesting the chief minister and the urban development minister to consider upgrading all sanitation and drainage workers from semi-skilled to skilled category, acknowledging their invaluable contribution to the city.
