Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A tragic accident on MG Road late Sunday night claimed the life of an auto-rickshaw driver, while two passengers sustained serious injuries.

A speeding car, coming from the wrong side, crashed head-on into the rickshaw, causing severe damage to its front end. The injured driver and passengers were rushed to hospital, where the driver succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

Meanwhile, the car driver fled the scene, and police are now examining CCTV footage to identify the suspect.

According to police, the deceased has been identified as Sitaram (50), a resident of Vrindavan Colony. The accident occurred around 1 AM near the district court while he was transporting a passenger.

The impact left Sitaram, passenger Shubham, and a young woman severely injured. Bystanders helped rush them to the hospital, where Sitaram died, while the other two victims remain under treatment.

Sitaram’s family said that he was not a full-time driver. His son, also a rickshaw driver, had returned home that night, after which Sitaram decided to take out the rickshaw for some extra earning. Unfortunately, it turned into a fatal trip.
