Indore (Madhya Pradesh): From now on, vehicle registration of habitual traffic violators will be cancelled, if they violate traffic rules more than 10 times. To ease pressure of traffic at squares in particular, at BRTS, the timing of traffic signals will be reset and action will be taken on modified vehicles.
To make vehicular traffic of the city more effective, Collector Asheesh Singh held a meeting with officials of concerned departments at his office on Tuesday. He held a comprehensive discussion regarding traffic improvement, implementation of Intelligent Integrated Traffic Management System (ITMS) project and simplifying the process of payment of e-challan, improvement in the timing of traffic signals.
It was decided in the meeting that registrations of vehicles of habitual drivers who violate traffic rules more than 10 times in the city will be cancelled. Also, the ongoing action against modified vehicles will be accelerated and necessary improvements will be made in the timing of traffic signals.
Smart City CEO Divyank Singh, Regional Transport Officer (RTO) Pradeep Sharma, officials of traffic police, NIC, treasury and other related departments were present in the meeting.
Collector Singh directed that strict action should be taken against habitual drivers who violate traffic rules more than 10 times and their vehicle registrations should be cancelled. For this, he also gave necessary guidelines to the officials of traffic police and transport department.
Singh directed that traffic signals at squares of BRTS should be reset as per the convenience of drivers. For this, time of signals should be determined according to the convenience of drivers and traffic pressure. Drivers should not face any kind of problem due to signals. During rain, it should be kept in mind that signals should not be dysfunctional in any way.
‘Share QR code with challan’
Collector Singh gave instructions to simplify the process of depositing the challan amount under (ITMS). He said that such options should be given that the QR code comes along with the challan and the driver can easily pay the challan amount. For this, he also gave instructions to write a letter to the senior office regarding simplifying the process.
