Metro’s Malviya Nagar Viaduct Work Starts

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A significant milestone in the Indore Metro project was achieved on Saturday as the first segment casting for the viaduct at Malviya Nagar (Radisson Square) commenced. The viaduct, part of the elevated construction, will connect Shaheed Bagicha and Khajrana Square, marking crucial progress in the city’s Super Priority Corridor of Indore Metro.

S Krishna Chaitanya, managing director of Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation, inspected the site and reviewed the progress of the elevated works. Officials briefed him on the construction updates, highlighting that the work is advancing as per schedule.

The viaduct is a key component of the Super Priority Corridor, designed to ensure seamless and efficient connectivity for residents of Indore. The managing director emphasised maintaining high construction quality and meeting deadlines to ensure timely completion of the project.

This corridor is part of the broader Indore Metro initiative, aimed at transforming urban mobility and reducing traffic congestion in the city. Senior officials, including representatives from the General Consultant and construction contractors, accompanied Chaitanya during the inspection.

Retired BMO Dies Under Mysterious Circumstances, Heart Attack Suspected

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A retired block medical officer (BMO) died under mysterious circumstances in the Aerodrome police station area on Saturday night. Preliminary investigation suggested that he might have suffered a heart attack.

He fell unconscious outside the house when he went to fetch medicines from a nearby pharmacy as he was feeling uneasy. The police conducted an autopsy to ascertain the exact cause behind the death. According to the police, the deceased was identified as Jagannath Prasad Bijoriya, a resident of Shree Laxmi Nagar.

His son Vinod said that Bijoriya was a BMO whose last posting was Dhar. After his retirement, he was staying in the Aerodrome area. He had respiratory problems for the last two days and was feeling uneasy and anxiety. On Saturday, he had gone to fetch medicines from a nearby pharmacy and fell unconscious outside the house on his return. He was rushed to a nearby private hospital from where he was referred to MY Hospital but could not be saved.
