Indore (Madhya Pradesh): An 8-month-old baby girl was found dead in a water tank inside a house in Indore’s Prajapat Nagar, as reported by police on Wednesday.
According to information, the deceased was identified as Myra. The incident occurred under Dwarkapuri police station area.
Police said, tank's lid was shut and had a motor placed on top. Her family and neighbors searched for her for about 30 minutes. When they opened the tank lid, they found her body inside.
The police were informed around 10 am on Wednesday. When they arrived, they saw the baby’s body in a water tank that was about 8 feet deep.
Police suspects murder by mother
In the preliminary investigation, police suspect it might be a case of murder. Suspicion has fallen on the baby’s mother, Varsha, who is reportedly mentally unstable.
Myra's father, Avinash, who runs a ready-made clothing business, said that he went to the bathroom early in the morning due to stomach pain. At that time, the baby was sleeping with her mother. A few minutes later, Varsha started shouting that the baby was missing.
He and the neighbors searched for her, and after half an hour, they found the baby inside the closed water tank.
