Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Continuing its creative experiment of transforming waste material into stunning artistic exhibits, the Indore Municipal Corporation has turned a garden near Janjeerwala Square into a vibrant and eco-friendly public space, using old vehicle tyres and scrap.

Various sculptures and structures created from discarded materials are on display in the garden, situated in Pancham Ki Phel area, like a fairy crafted from broomsticks, a cannon made from scrap metal, a chessboard crafted from old materials and colourful benches fashioned from recycled tyres.

Adding charm to the ambience, a large wall clock made using old tyres captivates visitors. IMC official DR Lodhi emphasized that this initiative not only enhanced the visual appeal of the garden but also promoted environmental sustainability by recycling waste creatively.

“This project is intended to give the garden a unique identity while spreading awareness about recycling of products,” said Lodhi. In the centre of the garden is a decorative pond framed by bright plants and bordered by train-track themed elements made of wood waste.

Vibrant playground equipment created from old vehicle tyres provides a joyful play area for children. Another striking sculpture in the garden shows a woman holding an umbrella, crafted entirely from scrap material.

The garden’s transformation through such eco-friendly efforts highlighted the IMC’s commitment to both civic beauty and sustainability, setting an example for other cities to follow. Residents were encouraged to visit and appreciate the garden’s innovative décor that merged art and environmental consciousness seamlessly, said officials.
