Indore: Metro Speeds Up Construction Ahead Of CMRS Inspection

Construction work on the Indore Metro Super Priority Corridor is in full swing as preparations continue for the upcoming inspection by the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS).

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Construction work on the Indore Metro Super Priority Corridor is in full swing as preparations continue for the upcoming inspection by the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS), a crucial step toward commencing passenger and commercial operations.

On Saturday, S Krishna Chaitanya, Managing Director of Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited, conducted a comprehensive review of progress across various key project components, including Gandhi Nagar Depot and station facilities.

He closely monitored the preparations for CMRS inspection and reviewed essential documentation processes related to passenger operations. The progress report of the Rolling Stock Washing Plant at Gandhi Nagar Depot was also examined.

The Managing Director directed contractors to expedite the plant's completion, ensuring adherence to project timelines. Key directives were issued to contractors to complete the remaining tasks in coordination, following all CMRS protocols.

The managing director also reviewed construction across the 16 stations of the priority corridor and emphasised the need for synchronised completion of civil and system works.

Indore to ride metro from January end

Indoreans would be able to ride metro from January-end 2025. In the first phase, the metro will only run for 5.9 km on the super corridor. It is expected that the Metro Rail Management will start operations with only five to six metro coaches.
