Indore (Madhya Pradesh): In a move to further strengthen its commitment to cleanliness and public health, Indore Municipal Corporation has launched 'Swachhata Attendance Campaign 2.0' under the Smart City Innovation Program.

The initiative, themed ‘Safai Apnao – Bimari Bhagao’ (Adopt Cleanliness – Drive Away Diseases) aims to cultivate hygiene habits among school children, with a special focus on handwashing practices.

The campaign involves active participation from school students, sanitation workers and the municipal team. Children register their presence by washing their hands and marking attendance through a government online portal, which immediately generates a certificate leveraging smart technology to promote cleanliness in an interactive way.

Drone-based larva detection in waterlogged areas

As part of the campaign’s expansion, the corporation has also introduced drone-based larva detection in waterlogged areas. This cutting-edge initiative is designed to prevent vector-borne diseases like dengue and malaria by identifying mosquito breeding spots early.

The campaign was officially flagged off by MIC members Nandkishore Pahadia, Ashwin Shukla and Additional Commissioner Divyank Singh. Officials emphasised that this drive is another powerful step towards maintaining Indore’s clean and healthy image, inspiring citizens to take active roles in hygiene and sanitation.
