MoU signed between the two institutions is aimed at fostering strategic collaboration in education

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): In a step towards bridging academia and defence, Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) and Infantry School, Mhow have come together to strengthen defence-academic collaboration.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the two institutions is aimed at fostering strategic collaboration in education, research and training to meet the evolving needs of the Indian Armed Forces and the academic community.

The formal signing ceremony was led by DAVV vice chancellor Prof Prof Rakesh Singhai and registrar Prajwal Khare. Representing the Infantry School were Lt Gen Gajendra Joshi, AVSM, SM, Commandant and Maj Gen Gautam Chauhan, VSM, Deputy Commandant and Chief Instructor.

Also present were DAVV exam controller Prof Ashesh Tiwari and Prof Kapil Sharma, nodal officer – Defence Collaboration.

On the occasion, the VC highlighted DAVV’s longstanding role as an academic partner to premier defence institutions like the Military College of Telecommunication Engineering (MCTE) and Army War College. “Through specialised programmes, tailor-made courses, and joint research, we remain committed to contributing to the professional development of our nation’s defenders,” he said.

The MoU outlines a multi-dimensional partnership that includes:

Design and delivery of customised academic programmes and certifications for Infantry School personnel.

Joint research initiatives in defence management, leadership psychology, innovation, technology, and national security.

Faculty exchange and curriculum development to align academic content with modern warfare and strategic demands.

Engagement of DAVV students and scholars in values and disciplines central to the Indian Armed Forces.
