Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The driver of the DCP Crime Branch allegedly assaulted a hospital compounder in full public view after he demanded payment following a dressing procedure.
The driver reportedly gestured towards his pistol and threatened to fire ten rounds. The incident was captured on CCTV, and following a complaint, ACP Malharganj has been instructed to investigate the matter.
The incident occurred at Sangam Hospital, located in Sangam Nagar. Hospital director Pradeep Rajput and compounder Deepak Lavanshi lodged a formal complaint against ASI Omprakash at the office of DCP (Crime Branch) Rajesh Tripathi.
The victim Deepak said, “Around 11 pm on Monday, a group of people arrived at the hospital, including two injured men. We immediately provided them with first aid and dressing. After the procedure, we asked for a total of Rs 100 for the service.
At that point, the accused Omprakash — whom none of us recognised — stepped forward and asked who was demanding money. He then came to the counter and slapped me. His companions also created a scene. Omprakash then pointed towards his pistol and said, ‘How dare you ask for money? If you do it again, I’ll fire all ten bullets.’”
Additional CP Amit Singh said that after receiving the complaint, ACP Malharganj Vivek Singh Chauhan has been instructed to investigate the matter thoroughly and appropriate action will be taken accordingly.
