Indore (Madhya Pradesh): In an important update for diabetic patients, recent research has shown that consuming fig leaf decoction, soaked figs, or fresh fig leaf juice can help regulate blood sugar levels.Offering new hope to diabetes patients, Dr Ramendra Gupta had presented his research study during the recently held Yoga conference in the city.

The study highlighted the benefits of figs, which are rich in fibre, antioxidants, and anti-inflammatory properties. These natural elements contribute to improved insulin secretion and effective diabetes management.

Dr Gupta’s research involved 100 diabetic patients across different age groups. Participants incorporated figs into their diet alongside their prescribed medications and practiced Mandukasana, a yoga pose. Within a month, their sugar levels were effectively controlled without any reported side effects.

The findings, supported by other medical professionals, have been documented in a published research paper. The conference also featured 26 other research presentations, including international contributions.

Among them, Dr Anant shared findings on yogic breathing techniques, which were shown to increase lung capacity by 8-10 per cent and help reduce stress, anxiety, and improve concentration. Rosanna from Italy also presented her work, underscoring the global interest in holistic health practices.
