Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A footage showing a fierce brawl between a group of young women at Indore’s Vijay Nagar area has been circulating widely on social media. The girls can be seen hitting each other, pulling hair and hurling abuses. They appeared to be 'drunk' as they walked out of the pub.

The video, which surfaced online on Wednesday, shows the intense altercation that took place late Saturday night (May 18) outside Malhar Mega Mall, the police confirmed.

As per police report, a 20-year-old woman named Neha Ajnar, a resident of Scheme No. 136 near Devi Ahilya Garden, Lasudia in Indore filed an FIR after the incident. In her complaint, she alleged that she was abused and assaulted after objecting to the obscene comments by a boy out the club.

Reason behind the fight

According to Neha’s statement, she and her friend Bulbul had gone to a club for a party on the night of May 18. Around 12:15 am, while they were coming down the stairs after leaving the club, a group of three to four boys and a girl were behind them. One of the boys, who was wearing a black shirt, allegedly passed an obscene comment at Neha.

Neha then confronted the boy and asked him to leave quietly. However, as they reached the side gate of the mall, the same group followed them and started abusing them with vulgar language. Soon, the group allegedly began to physically assault both Neha and Bulbul with punches and slaps. The duo retaliated and the girls from the other group joined the fight and started hitting them.

The incident occurred between 12:05 am and 12:20 am on May 19.

Regarding the matter, Vijay Nagar police have registered a case under Section 115, 296, 3(5) of BNS (Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita) and are investigating the matter. The identities of the attackers are currently unknown.

Police are reviewing CCTV footage from the mall to identify the culprits.
