Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Indore police have arrested three main accused, including a woman, in the Bhavana Singh murder case on Thursday.

The accused—Swastika, Ashu Yadav, and Mukul—are now in police custody. According to the police, Mukul fired the gun. The argument started between him and Bhavana over loud music.

During a search of the accused’s flat, the police found 28 mobile phones, 4 laptops, over 50 ATM cards, and more than 50 bank passbooks. They also recovered two magazines and bullets.

The accused were involved in online betting. The police revealed that they had planned to escape to Nepal.

All about the murder

Bhavana, a resident of Gwalior, was shot in a flat in Mahalaxmi Nagar, Indore on March 21. Three people took her to Bombay Hospital in a car and fled. Later, Bhavana died during treatment.

The police found out that the accused had escaped from Bhopal in a swift car.

A reward of ₹10,000 was announced for their arrest. The police suspected they might try to escape abroad, so a lookout notice was issued against them.

According to DCP Abhinav Vishwakarma, the accused traveled from Indore to Bhopal, then took a train to Jhansi. From Jhansi, they went to Delhi, then Kasauli, and later moved towards Uttarakhand. Their plan was to reach Dubai via Nepal.

However, when they got to know about the lookout notice against them, they changed their plan and returned to Gwalior.

Police have also detained Vikhyat Pathak in Bhopal, along with Piyush Awasthi and Kanha Goyal.

The flat where the murder took place was rented in their names.

After the murder, Ashu, Mukul, and Swastika stayed at Vikhyat’s house in Bhopal. Now, Vikhyat has also been charged for helping them while they were on the run.
