Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A fun night full of dance at a wedding event turned out to be the last night for a 13-year-old girl. After performing energetic dance moves, she touched an iron tent pole to rest—unaware that it was live with electric current —and was electrocuted.
What was supposed to be a night to remember became the darkest moment for her family.
The incident occurred on Saturday night under Kshipra police station limits when the girl touched the pole and received a severe electric shock. She was rushed to a private hospital in the Vijay Nagar area, where doctors declared her brought dead.
According to the police, the deceased was identified as Priyanka, daughter of Murli Chauhan, a resident of Faraspur village.
Family members said Priyanka was attending a wedding on her father’s maternal side in the village. Exhausted after dancing, she moved away from the dance area and touched the iron pole to rest, which resulted in a fatal electric shock. Her father is a driver and is survived by her parents and three siblings.
Police launched an investigation to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the incident and conducted the post-mortem of the deceased.
