Neemuch (Madhya Pradesh): A farmer, wearing a garland of complaints, staged a sit-in at the collectorate, demanding justice after his land was illegally occupied by another person.
As per reports, farmer Mukesh Bhil, a SC from Upreda village in Jawad tehsil claimed that he has two agricultural lands - a 1.150 hectares land (survey number 699) and 0.420 hectares land (survey number 700), totalling 1.57 hectares land, which is registered in his name in the revenue records. He said that his property was illegally occupied by Gopal Patidar after he had given it to him for sharecropping from 2016 to 2024.
When he wanted his land back in 2024, he discovered that Gopal had occupied his land. Gopal made casteist slurs and also threatened him when he wanted his land back.
Despite numerous complaints filed through the Chief Minister's Jan Sunwai Portal and other officials, Mukesh said that no action has been taken yet. He vowed to initiate a hunger strike at the collectorate until he received justice.
Additional collector Laxmi Gamd acknowledged Mukesh's complaint during a public hearing and said that the case has been forwarded to SDM Jawad for investigation. She assured that action would be taken within two days according to the rules.
