Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Delhi Police Special Cell, on Wednesday, arrested an operative of Khalistani terrorist organisation - Babbar Khalsa International - from Madhya Pradesh's Indore.

Accused had been absconding after carrying out a rocket launcher attack on a police station in Punjab in April 2025.

The accused, Akashdeep Singh alias Baz was involved in the attack on Kila Lal Singh Police Station in Batala, Gurdaspur.

According to the police, Singh first reached Gujarat after fleeing from Punjab. Later, moved to Indore where he was working under a false identity as a crane operator at a construction site in the Hiranagar police station area.

He was allegedly in contact with the terrorist organisation through social media.

Police had claimed that this attack was done to take revenge for killing the accused of grenade attacks in Pilibhit in Uttar Pradesh and Punjab. Another case under the Arms Act is also registered against him in Delhi.

According to Delhi Police, Akashdeep was in contact with a foreign handler associated with Babbar Khalsa International. Who was instructing him to carry out terrorist activities in the country through social media apps.

Delhi Police Special Cell got clues of Akashdeep being in Gujarat. On investigation there, he was confirmed to be in Indore. After this, a team led by Inspector Ashok Kumar Bhadana reached Indore.

DCP Kaushik said, "This arrest is a big success against Babbar Khalsa's network spread across India. We are interrogating the accused and investigating other links and modules."
