Indore (Madhya Pradesh): In the heart of Indore, where ambition meets opportunity, one woman has quietly transformed lives for over two decades—not with loud declarations, but through unwavering dedication and vision.
Dr. Kavita Kasliwal Kothari, CEO of Arihant College, is that rare leader who blends intellect with empathy, business with education, and vision with values.
Working alongside her father Jayant Kasliwal and brother Kunal, her journey is deeply rooted in family values and a legacy of resilience.
An entrepreneur at heart, her journey began with chocolate—literally. She built a successful chocolate manufacturing business with her husband Ravish, employing 45 people and exporting across borders. But as the business grew, so did a deeper calling: to pass on the entrepreneurial mindset that had shaped her own life.
“I always believed learning should be lived, not just taught,” Kothari said, reflecting on what pushed her toward education. With a background in Entrepreneurial Studies from IIM Bangalore, she didn't just step into academia—she redefined it.
Over the past 20 years, she has trained more than 30,000 students, guiding them with practical exposure, industry connections, and a commitment to real-world impact. Her efforts led to the creation of an incubation centre that now supports over 10 startups—ranging from tech ventures to food-based MSMEs. For many young dreamers, she became their first investor in spirit, and often, the only one who believed in them.
“I tell my students, failure isn’t the opposite of success—it’s part of it,” she said. With four research fellows currently studying under her, Kothari continues to bridge the gap between theory and practice, campus and commerce.
Kothari also serves as vice-president of Devi Ahilya University Alumni Association, further strengthening her academic ties and contributions to the region’s educational development.
Beyond the classroom, her commitment runs deep into community service. Through three Indore-based trusts, she supports initiatives focused on education, values, and religious teachings—all offered at nominal fees to ensure inclusivity. “Development of society begins with access,” Kothari said. “When you offer knowledge with compassion, you create lasting change.”
Her team of 120 educators and professionals follow her lead—not just in policy, but in purpose. Every student who walks through her doors enters a space where ideas are nurtured, risks are encouraged, and character is built alongside careers.
She is also a mother of two kids—Neil Kothari, aged 18, and Prakriti Kothari, aged 10—who continue to inspire her own journey of learning, balance, and ambition.
