7-Day Special Drive In Indore To Improve Traffic; Action Would Be Taken Against Wrongly Parked Vehicles, Goods Kept On Footpaths Would Be Seized

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Collector Asheesh Singh instructed IMC officials to start a special drive to improve traffic in the city. He told them to take action against those who have not started parking vehicles in designated parking.

Collector Singh gave these instructions in a meeting held here about traffic management in the city. IMC commissioner Shivam Verma, Smart City CEO Divyank Singh, additional collector Jyoti Sharma, additional commissioner Abhay Rajangaonkar along with SDM, IMC officials and zone officers were present in the meeting.

Collector Singh reviewed the action taken for traffic management on various routes in the city. He instructed that shopkeepers who keep their goods and boards on the footpath should be counselled and action should be taken against those who do not obey even after counselling.

He instructed officials to take action against those who park their vehicles haphazardly on the footpath and asked them to tell shop owners to park their vehicles systematically.

Collector Singh instructed officials to run a special campaign in each zone for the next 7 days to remove encroachment from footpaths and make special efforts to ensure better parking arrangements. For this, joint action should be taken by police, revenue and municipal corporation.

He also instructed that all vehicles parked on roads in various parts of the city should be seized. He also directed officials to improve traffic management along all major left turns. He said that improvement in traffic situation should be visible on the ground within a week.
