Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Two days after a 10-year-old boy ended his life in Dwarkapuri area, a 13-year-old girl allegedly jumped to death from the 14th floor of a highrise apartment in Apollo DB City on Tuesday morning. Everything appeared normal when she was going to the school bus stop with her father a few minutes before the incident and CCTV has even captured her father pampering her. Little did he know the tragedy that was about to strike him and his family.

After dropping her at the bus stop, the father returned home but the girl instead of waiting for her bus made her way to another apartment block opposite to her apartment and took a lift which stopped on the 13th floor.

CCTV footage has captured her repeatedly pressing the lift buttons to take her to the top floor after reaching the 13th floor. When the lift did not respond she came out of the lift, put her bag on the stairs and took the staircase to reach the duct between 13th and 14th floor and reportedly jumped to her death from there.

The incident took place in Ophira-1 Tower between 7.40 am and 7.45 am. Anjali Yamyar, a class VII student from a city school was found dead in the open to sky area (ventilation duct) of the ground floor of the apartment. She was seen by driver Baliram Patil, who regularly visits the township, around 8.25 am. Baliram informed Free Press that he was the first person to see the girl lying there. She was in a school uniform so the residents informed the school administration which in turn informed her family members.

Lasudia police station in charge Taresh Soni and other senior officers reached the spot soon after knowing about the incident. Soni said that Anjali was a class VII student in a city school. Preliminary investigation revealed that her father Amol Yamyar, senior manager at Container Corporation of India, had gone to drop her to the school bus stop outside the township. They were seen in the lift around 7.24 am and father was seen pampering her.

She came back to the township after her father returned home after leaving her at the bus stop. She went to Ophira 1 tower and jumped from the duct between 13th and 14th floor. The police have recovered her bag.

Reached the city three months ago

Amol Yamyar was transferred to the city from Visakhapatnam three months ago. He along with the family members reached the city in March. Anjali was quiet reticent and did not share any of her problems with her parents. The police are also gathering information from her school as well. Her bag was also checked by the police but no suicide note or other written stuff was recovered from it. After the autopsy, the police have started an investigation to know the circumstances under which the incident happened. The police in their initial investigation have found out that the girl was of reserved nature and was not receiving proper parenting, said ACP (Vijay Nagar) Krishan Lalchandani.

She had gone to Ophira Tower for first time

Initially it was believed that Anjali had gone to Ophira Tower to meet her friend residing there but investigation revealed that none of her friends resides in the Apartment and she had gone to the apartment for the first time and was alone in the lift. The CCTVs of other places are also being examined by the police. The statements of her family members are also being recorded.
