Bengaluru: A tourist had a miraculous escape from a wild elephant attack in Karnataka’s Bandipur Tiger Reserve. The elephant charged at the tourist from Kerala. The incident was captured on camera, and soon the disturbing visuals surfaced online.
In the viral video, it can be seen that the tusker charged at the tourist, pushing him to the ground. The tourist was then trampled by the elephant. However, he managed to escape miraculously after sustaining some injuries. The incident took place on the Ooty-Mysuru national highway.

The video was shot by fellow tourists. The incident took place when the man tried to take a selfie with the animal, reported Matrubhoomi. Suddenly, the elephant charged at him. The man stumbled and fell as he was trying to get onto the road. The animal left without harming the tourist much.
The man from Kerala was rushed to a hospital. The forest department has not yet released the identity of the tourist. His condition is reported to be serious. The video shows several vehicles and tourists at the spot. Notably, stopping of vehicles are prohibited on the highway.
