New Delhi: In a step towards facilitating faster and more transparent voter services, the Election Commission of India (ECI) on Wednesday, June 18, announced that Voter ID cards, also known as Electors’ Photo Identity Cards (EPICs), will now be delivered within just 15 days of an electoral roll update. This is a significant improvement over the current system, where delivery can take more than a month.

The move is backed by a tracking system and a revamped digital workflow aimed at convenience and real-time updates for citizens.
