Chandigarh: A VIP lift at the Haryana Secretariat malfunctioned in Chandigarh on Wednesday. Haryana Sports Minister Gaurav Gautam and others briefly got stuck in the lift. The incident was recorded on camera and its video soon went viral on social media. In the video, eight other people could be seen standing in the lift.
Gautam along with his aides remained trapped in the lift reportedly for five minutes. The incident took place at around 5 pm, reported NDTV. In the video, one of the people could be seen telling the minister that the lift would take 25 minutes for the lift to start working. In response, Gautam started smiling.
The reason for the glitch is not known yet. All the persons, who were struck inside the lift, are reported to be safe.

Man Dies Of Heart Attack After His 8-Year-Old Son Got Stuck In Lift In Bhopal:
Earlier on Monday, a tragic incident took place in Madhya Pradesh's Bhopal when a father suffered a fatal heart attack after his eight-year-old child got stuck in the residential lift. The incident reportedly took place at around 11 pm in Royal Farm Villa Colony. The deceased was identified as Rishi Bhatnagar (51).
After the power cut, Bhatnagar's eight-year-old son Devansh got stuck in the lift. Bhatnagar panicked and he rushed towards the guard's room to ask him to start a generator. However, due to nervousness he fell unconscious. About three minutes after the incident, the electricity was restored and Devansh was rescued. Meanwhile, the residents of the colony took Bhatnagar to a hospital, but he could not survive.
