New Delhi: Former Haryana Congress MLA Dharam Singh Chhoker was apprehended by Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials in Delhi on Sunday night. According to reports, Chhoker has seven non-bailable warrants against him. The former MLA was reportedly arrested when he was having a party at the bar in Delhi's Shangri La Hotel. Dramatic visuals of his arrest surfaced online.
Notably, Chhoker tried to evade arrest during the ED raid at night when he was partying at the bar. The raid team was led by Navaneet Agrawal, Joint Director, Gurugram Zone, ED, reported Times Now.

As per the report, when the team raided the hotel, it spotted Chhoker at Shangri La's Grappa Bar. The footage going viral on social media shows Chhoker and his bodyguards running towards the exit gate of the hotel to evade arrest. However, ED officials were present at the gate. He was then nabbed by the ED team.
In the video, it could be seen that the former Haryana MLA even tried to hit the ED officials to escape, but all in vain. Choker was later taken to the ED office for questioning. For the unversed, the Gurugram Special Court issued several non-bailable warrants against the former Congress MLA.
Who Is Dharam Singh Chhoker?
Chhoker was elected to the Haryana Legislative Assembly from Samalkha as a legislator in the 2019 Haryana Legislative Assembly election as a Congress candidate. Chhoker is currently under ED investigation in a money laundering case linked to a fraudulent housing project in Gurugram. The case reportedly involves the misappropriation of funds collected from over 3,700 homebuyers for a promised affordable housing project.
