Lucknow: A new 30-seat call center for the National Cyber Crime Helpline Number 1930 has been inaugurated at the DCP South office in Kalli Paschim, PGI area, Lucknow. DGP Rajeev Krishna of Uttar Pradesh officially opened the center on Wednesday, in the presence of ADG Cyber Crime Binod Kumar Singh.
Callers To Assist Victims Of Online Financial Fraud Across State
This new high capacity call center has been established to handle the increasing volume of cybercrime complaints, supplementing the existing 20 seat call center at UP 112 headquarters.
The center will operate 24 hours a day, with 94 trained police personnel, ranging from constables to inspectors, dedicated to registering online complaints from victims of financial cybercrime. Fifty callers will always be available to assist victims.
Cyber Fraud Mitigation Centre To Launch Soon In Same Premises
Complaints lodged here will be displayed at 14C Cybercrime Headquarters, district/ commissionerate cyber cells, and relevant police stations. Soon, a Cyber Fraud Mitigation Center (CFMC) will also be launched at this location, in collaboration with banks, allowing police, bank, and telecom personnel to provide immediate assistance under one roof.
No Minimum Limit For Cyber Crime FIRs Now
In another significant step, the ₹5 lakh monetary limit for registering online financial fraud cases at cybercrime police stations has been removed, ensuring all types of online financial crimes can now be registered, improving public access to justice.
UP’s First Batch Of Cyber Commandos Deployed
Additionally, "Cyber Commandos" who are trained officers that are being appointed at each zonal headquarters to assist investigators with complex cybercrime cases. Fifteen UP police personnel have already completed a 6 month Cyber Commando course through 14C.
