Lucknow: Cabinet Minister Nand Gopal Gupta 'Nandi' has raised concerns about bureaucratic operations, specifically questioning the procurement of tablets instead of smartphones for distribution. His letter also highlighted alleged issues with modifications to LIDA's master plan and a subsidy provided to Fuji Silvertech company under the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) policy.

The department clarified that all amendments were made following due process and on the recommendation of top level authorities. They added that the proposals have been sent to the Cabinet for approval and will only be implemented after ministerial consent.

Regarding the smartphone to tablet switch, the minister's letter cited a prior decision to distribute 2.5 million smartphones. However, a later proposal shifted to tablets. Departmental sources stated this change was a top-level decision, aimed at discouraging "reel-making" addiction among students by providing tablets instead of phones.
